Another January

What is it about the new year that prompts me to blog? LOL I have done some other blogging throughout 2009, but nothing noteworthy. As I contemplated starting a new blog I came across this one, and not for nothing, but it wasn't too bad. I needed to be reminded of a few things, so I will continue on.... until I get bored again. A week - maybe two?

Maybe I just won't have time for it. Who knew last year that I would have a job that meant working 50 hours a week? I barely have time to kiss TBG - more or less do anything else for him. One of the many things I surely have to work on this year.

Today has been a good day for us. A lot of talk about what we need to do - there has been some losses this year, and we have struggled with many things, but we are still together, and for the most part happy. I feel very blessed to have him in my life.

Some of the struggles are ongoing - my diagnosis of fibromyalgia was before last year, but it didn't really start to take a toll on my and my family until this past year. I am sure I will have PLENTY to say on that subject, but not today.

My resolutions? Mostly to work harder at taking care of myself. Hopefully in doing that I can be better at giving to the other people in my life that need more from me. More meetings, more rest, more exercise, less stress. I imagine we would all like that no? More energy given to my family, and less to my job, if that's possible. Someone remind me - these monkeys won't be here forever.....

Hm... I hope it's not me reminding me next January when I crack open the old blog again.

Silly things

I made grilled cheese for lunch. The littlest monkey did the usual and ate the middle leaving the crust for me. Then she caught me eating a Hershey Kiss. (Yeah I know) So I told her to eat more of her lunch and she could have one.

Now she is making "grilled cheese balls" with the remainder of her sandwich. I should probably stop her, but some of the balls are actually making it into her mouth. Waste not want not right?

Another resolution

I would just like to announce that I actually put on make up for the trek to the craft store. And I didn't even BRING a sweatshirt to wear. So no lame mom uniform for me today.

I got lots of yarn and priced out a few other things that I want to try soon. I started a blanket for TBG. I am sure he will appreciate it - he likes stuff like that.
I also want to do a name plaque for one of his girls - but they didn't have the right size at the store we went too.

We head home tomorrow - it's been nice to be away - but it will be equally nice to be home again.

Travel Time

It turns out that traveling on New Years morning isn't a bad idea. We hit hardly any traffic on the way to Maryland. We came to visit The Big Guy's kids. They are about the same age as my middle monkey so she came along too. Other than the usual "Are we there yet?", the trip was a breeze.

His ex (L) was very sweet to me - and welcomed me into her home, so kudos to her. And she had the girls get each of us a gift. Since I was jonesing for a craft we made a plan to go to the craft store tomorrow. Yarn is on sale and I know I can crochet with a little warming up and help from L. In the meantime I got to see her specialty. I cannot WAIT to try this - it is gorgeous!!! This picture totally doesn't do it justice:






We are exhausted - but it's really nice to be here, some green grass instead of snow everywhere, I get to see TBG play with his kids... they are so happy to be with him. All in all I am very happy to be starting the new year this way.
